The Produce department strives to bring you the very best certified organic and local, ecologically grown produce. Our fruits and vegetables are delivered six days a week and are meticulously cared for to maintain freshness and flavor. Our staff is well equipped to provide you with nutrition and cooking information — they can even help you decide what’s for dinner tonight!

We offer a variety of delicious meal options made in-house with the same quality products the Co-op is known for. With a focus on local and organic, our salad and hot food bars have become very popular. We serve hot soup and delicious sandwiches and wraps to go, including vegetarian and vegan choices. (Yes, you may bring your own plate! We will weigh it for you first.) We make organic smoothies for any palate all year round. Our packaged food case offers scrumptious grab-and-go choices including salads, olives, and desserts. Whether you come for lunch or a freshly baked scone and a just-brewed cup of Fair Trade organic coffee, we welcome you to eat in our indoor deli or outside at the picnic tables in the courtyard.
MNFC offers a wide range of wholesome, high-quality grains, rice, flours, nuts, seeds, beans, coffee, teas, and granolas. Get as much or as little as you need. We encourage you to bring your own containers. Whenever possible, we offer products that have been grown or produced in Vermont, including honey, maple syrup, several varieties of heirloom beans, wheat berries, and corn flour. Most of these items are produced in small batches and are very fresh when you purchase them. Our locally grown whole-wheat flour is one of the best flours you’ll ever find to meet your baking needs. We offer Vermont-made granola and locally roasted coffee beans.
We sell spices and herbs in bulk too, and purchasing this way is an excellent bargain. If you need an herb or spice that we do not carry at the store, you may special-order it.

Do you enjoy fresh artisan breads? At the Co-op, you will be delighted to find an array of delicious and nutritious breads featuring wheat, spelt, or rice flour. Our Vermont-baked bread ranges from Red Hen’s crusty whole-grain bread, made from local flour, to Baba-a-Louis delicious sandwich breads. We carry Klinger’s breads, Shelburne Farms’ organic O’Bread (including wheat-free alternatives), and Deeter’s German Schwarzbrot (blackbread). We receive fresh deliveries daily from regional Vermont bread makers.
Our Cheese department offers over 100 cheeses, including over 70 varieties of delicious award-winning cheeses made in Vermont. In our cheese case you will find some of the best cow, goat, and sheep milk cheeses you’ll ever come across. In keeping with our high food production standards, we only carry cheese and dairy products that are free of the Bovine Growth Hormone rBST (recombinant bovine somatotropin). Whether you prefer classics like Swiss Gruyere, Spanish Manchego, and Italian Parmigiano Reggiano or insist on impressing your guests with locally made cheeses, you will not be disappointed.
Our dairy cooler features an abundance of high quality fresh milk and dairy products, most of which are produced in Vermont. You can choose from dozens of kinds of flavored and un flavored yogurts, including Vermont made Butterworks and award–winning Libertè yogurt. If you prefer to buy your milk in an old–fashioned – progressive manner, you will find organic Vermont milk in glass containers in our cooler. We also carry local fresh goat’s milk, Vermont award–winning butter, quark, and organic kefir. In accordance with MNFC buying guidelines, all out milk and dairy products are guaranteed to be free of artificial growth hormones.
The goal of our Grocery department is to provide you with a complete selection of organic and natural foods. We understand the importance of special diets and strive to offer alternatives. Our Grocery department features wheat- and gluten-free items, dairy-free products, and products made with low sodium and alternative sweeteners. We offer locally produced items from maple syrup to salsas, and our international choices range from the highest quality organic olive oils to Asian sauces.
Our frozen foods section features full lines of wheat- and gluten-free breads, fruits and vegetables, complete entrée selections, ice cream and dairy-free ice-cream alternatives, and pizzas, as well as locally produced turkey, pork, beef, and buffalo products and a wide variety of seafood.
In our grocery’s perishable department, you will find meatless soy alternatives, tofu, locally produced tempeh, pastas, hummus spreads, muffaletta, pestos, flatbreads, and tortillas.
Our Meat department relies on local producers for beef, buffalo, poultry, and lamb. We abide by strict selection criteria and can offer meat products free of growth hormones, antibiotics, nitrates, and colorings.
MNFC offers a unique and ever-changing variety of wines. Selections range from great Italian Chiantis to outstanding Sauvignons Blancs from California. We also stock organically produced wines, Saké, sparkling wines, and Champagnes. Case prices are available. We also have a fabulous selection of both domestic and imported beers. We are proud of our Vermont beer producers and are committed to supporting them. Many other New England breweries are represented on our shelves, too. We provide a wide range of imports for you to choose from and are always looking for something new.
Our Health and Beauty department carries a wide variety of high-quality, natural body-care products ranging from shampoos, soaps, and bath accessories to lotions, essential oils, medicinal salves and ointments, and cosmetics. We have products from established companies like Burt’s Bees, Aubrey Organics, Nature’s Gate, and Tom’s of Maine, as well as locally made, unique Vermont products from smaller companies. Come in and see for yourself!
You’ll find an amazing range of vitamins, dietary supplements, herbal remedies, homeopathic remedies, and even locally made herbal tinctures in our Vitamins and Supplements department. We offer thousands of excellent products from well-respected, established companies such as New Chapter, Carlson, EOS Botanicals, Garden of Life, and Renew Life. Browse our reference section for information on herbal remedies and the use of natural medicines and supplements. Our knowledgeable, trained staff can assist you with your questions and research products for you. If there’s an herbal supplement, vitamin, tincture, or ointment we don’t carry, let us know. Many of these products may be special-ordered.
The focus of the Flower shop at the Co-op is to provide flowers and plants that are locally grown and certified organic or grown using organic standards. The flower industry has a reputation for poor labor standards and the overuse of pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Our goal is to support those who honor responsible horticultural practices and labor standards, offering customers quality flowers and plants grown with care.
Our flowers come from local gardens during the summer growing season, and our customers appreciate the convenience, beauty, and quality of Vermont-grown tulips and lilies in the middle of winter!
Choices range from cooking utensils to reusable cloth shopping bags, from earth-friendly laundry products to a generous selection of environmentally friendly cleaning and paper products. You will also find a variety of gifts, note cards created by Vermont artists, and Fair Trade crafts from around the world — most are crafted from recycled or sustainably harvested raw materials and help enable artisans to work in harmony with their local ecosystems.
